It was Zakes Batwini's 40th birthday yesterday and he has a lot to celebrate.

The star has been accepted to the prestigious Harvard University.

Zakes showed off his fabulous red, white and black Harvard-themed birthday cake.

He wrote, "Black child from the ghetto, it's possible."

Zakes' wife, Nandi Madida, was quick to hop onto social media to congratulate the muso.

She said, "What an incredible birthday gift. So proud of you - being accepted at Harvard University is an incredible milestone. Happy 40th birthday to my husband, my best friend, my confidant, my heart. I love you!"

Fans rushed to Zakes' mentions to congratulate him.

One fan wrote, "I just love how Nandi has always been his number one fan. Lucky man he is. Happy birthday king and congratulations."

Nandi and Zakes have indeed always been total couple goals.

And they've been a great support to each other during this difficult time of lockdown.

Two months ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Zakes had organised an intimate lockdown birthday celebration for Nandi.

He also made sure to keep his wife entertained by constantly doing things to cheer her the singer and entrepreneur up.

Nandi posted a hilarious video showcasing one of his coronavirus sanitising spoofs - Zakes certainly could make it as a comedian in another life.
