Ghanaian female politician rejoices as she bags Master's degree

The deputy executive director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Gifty Oware-Aboagye, has successfully bagged her Master’s degree in Science in Defence and International Politics from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Gifty, who is responsible for administration and finance at the NSS and manages an annual personnel pool of about 100 000, took to social media to celebrate her academic milestone.

Celebrating her accomplishment online, Gifty wrote:

''Another one bagged, and gradually, we are inching towards the mark. It has never promised to be an easy path, but we relentlessly walk in silence. Today, I walked home with a Master of Science in Defence and International Politics from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College. For God, country and my son.''

The highly ambitious Ghanaian female politician and achiever shared a bedazzling graduation photo along with her post.

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Stephen Akpabio-Klementowski, an ex-convict and lecturer, has transformed his life through education after he earned his undergraduate degree and two Master’s while serving a 16-year jail sentence.

Without any qualification, he managed to defy the odds and studied to earn a degree from The Open University and two master’s from Oxford Brooks, both in the UK.

The resilient black man started studying for his BSc in Social Science with The Open University while he was in prison.

In another story, a resilient Ghanaian young man named Ibrahim Razak has recounted his life experience and heaps of financial struggles as a student nurse.

Razak, 22, reveals that he has been pushing trolleys, popularly known as trucks, at the Kasoa market in the Central Region to finance his education.

The determined young man recently sat for an interview with SVTV Africa and revealed that he is a first-year student nurse at the Bole Nursing Training College in the Northern Region.
