The Mandalorian star Gina Carano has been fired by Lucasfilm. The actress was fired after she shared a snap on her Instagram story that suggested that the Republican Party supporters in the United States are being treated like Jewish people in Nazi Germany.

The hashtag #FireGinaCarano trended on Twitter on Wednesday, 10 February shortly after the star's post on Instagram. Tweeps, mostly from the US, screengrabbed the post and other her other distasteful posts and shared them the micro-blogging app. In a now-deleted post, Gina wrote:

"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbours... even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don't realise that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbours hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?"

LadBible reports that a statement issued by Lucasfim states that the company has no plans to employ Gina in the future. Lucasfilm also expressed that her posts are unacceptable.

In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that Kevin Hart's personal shopper has allegedly defrauded him of nearly $1.2 million (over R17 million) in a space of two years.

Dylan Syer appeared in a New York City court on Wednesday, 10 February where he was informed of the charges against him. He faces charges of grand larceny and 9 other counts, according to media reports.

Syer allegedly used the US comedian's credit card information to launder money into his own account. The popular actor had employed Syer in 2015.
