Mzansi actress Larona Moagi got real about her acting and her experience while she was on The River. Larona opened up about how it was to play the role of someone who people loved to hate, Tumi Mokoena on the show.

Larona said that she's always had a passion for acting, even though she started out by registering for a degree in Law at Wits University. Things finally opened up for her after she got the role of Tumi after a successful audition.

Larona did not have any acting experience prior to receiving the role on The River. She had only been in high school productions. Larona joined The River in 2018.

"When it was time to go to varsity, I chose to do a BA Law degree while attending acting classes and auditions to keep the fire burning," she said.

The actress told Drum magazine that she didn't think that she would receive such a huge role since it was her first job. She said that getting to work with such big names was affirming for her.

"I don’t think you can get anywhere in life if you allow yourself to be intimidated. Just do your best," said Larona.

Larona said that acting skills develop over time and once you know your character, you can make magic on-screen.
