The family of the alleged victim in the now-dismissed rape case against DJ Fresh and Euphonik has reacted to his tweet accusing her of being a "pathological liar".
Fresh took to Twitter recently and replied to a tweep alleging that the victim in the case was a "pathological liar". The musician responded:
"Aunt of hers called me 3 weeks ago STATING EXACTLY THIS!!! She wouldn't speak on the record coz 'family'."
In a statement shared by entertainment commentator Phil Mpela on Twitter, the Madikizela family refuted Fresh's "false claims" and expressed that "at no point did any family member call DJ Fresh to say such".
"The Madikizela family is distressed at these false claims and rejects these with contempt."
The family called on DJ Fresh to retract his "false claims immediately". The Madikizelas also claimed that this is a smear campaign and public character assassination of their daughter.
Tweeps have shared mixed reactions to the family's statement and Fresh's tweet. Check out some of their comments below:

"The inconsistency is appalling... how can an Aunty of a stranger, whom you claim have never met, have access to your personal number?"
@_KaraboOmphile said:
"Maybe now she does because of the situation."
@itseviforyou commented:
"Maybe its a stupid family member that's beefing with the victim so she wants to interfere and cause confusion."

"You might be right. Or, it could also be anyone pretending to be the aunt... People are weird."
@BROKEBILLIONA10 said:
"Maybe they wanted to extort him it’s possible."
@monyakepuselet1 added:
"Very tricky, there's something fishy about this. I'm not defending Fresh but the statement made by this girl is kind of mediocre. How does it even hold for opening a case. Maybe just maybe the "supposed Aunt" could be telling the truth."
In related news, Briefly.co.za reported that Mzansi DJ's Fresh and Euphonik have had their rape case set aside. DJ Euphonik released a statement on February 15.
According to Euphonik, the sexual assault claim was investigated by the authorities and it was found that the allegations are without merit.
"As we've said before, these are false allegations and we are deeply saddened that GBV, a serious crisis in South Africa, was weaponised in this manner," said Euphonik.
The Mzansi record producer thanked his family, friends supporters and their legal team. South Africans were outraged when the allegations against Fresh and Euphonik were made.
The timeline went into a frenzy after the woman tweeted that she had been allegedly sexually abused by the two.
