According to a heartwarming post shared online, Oom Solly recently retired from Potchefstroom High School after dedicating 46 years of his life to making sure everything that needed fixing at the school was seen to.
After learning about his retirement, former learners of the school, who now belong to the Potch Old Boys club, decided that a sweet way to repay him would be to give him a perfectly refurbished Nissan delivery vehicle.
"OOM SOLLY'S DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED AND BOY HAVE WE WAITED! After various Covid & licensing department-related postponements, the day that many Old Boys have worked tirelessly towards over the last 9 months is here.
"Our call for contributions towards Oom Solly elicited an incredible response. This amazing collective effort will result in the presentation to Oom Solly of a fully refurbished Heavy Load Nissan Cabstar Delivery Vehicle this Saturday 27th March."
In another post shared by the men's club, Oom Solly stands proudly next to his new truck and the smile on his face proves that he is one of the happiest people alive because of the kind gesture that was done by them. The various posts about the nice thing that was done also received a number of reactions from locals who absolutely loved to see it.
