Hulisani Ravele has revealed that she's not hosting this year's SAFTAs despite a strong online campaign by her fans and some of her peers in the entertainment space.

The talented media personality's fans took to Twitter a few days ago using the hashtag #HulisaniMustHostSaftas15 to try and persuade the organisers of the prestigious event to give her the hosting gig.

The 947 presenter took to the micro-blogging app recently to share the sad news with her loving fans. She captioned a video she posted:

"Hello bo beyps...just wanted to let you know that I will not be hosting the #SAFTAs. I love and appreciate you for what you did for me with #HulisaniMustHostSaftas15. A special thank you to @PhilMphela, may God and the angels enlarge your territory."

In the actual clip, the TV host added:

"Sadly I will not be hosting the SAFTAs. You win some, you lose some. I know that there are victories out there with my name on them."

The star also expressed her gratitude to her fans for the love they showed her during the campaign.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, who seemingly started the campaign, said he's disappointed that his face did not bag the gig.

"Disappointed but I’m so happy that thousands of people on here got to show you that you are loved and celebrated for your talent and seeds you are planting in this business. We see you!"

Hulisani has been working in the entertainment industry since she was a presenter on Yo TV and the nation came to love her. Hulisani openly said that she wants to host the award show after the SAFTAs said they were looking for someone to help them with production.

"Whoever gets this tender, please find me when you're looking for a host! 24 years in the game and never hosted the SAFTAs!? Imagine!" said Hulisani.

This stirred up a conversation on Twitter and Hulisani started trending on the micro-blogging website. Fans said that they would love Hulisani to host the SAFTAs this year.
