Rail workers in Britain are to vote on a pay deal that could pause more than a year of walkouts on the strike-plagued country's train network, a union said Wednesday. Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union are to vote on an agreement reached with the Rail Delivery Group (RDG), which represents train operating companies.

Croatian authorities on Wednesday ordered Coca-Cola to withdraw some drinks after food poisoning cases were reported in three cities. A 19-year-old youth was hospitalised in the western town of Rijeka on Saturday and other food poisoning cases have been reported in Zagreb and Varazdin, according to Health Minister Vili Beros.

French automaker Renault and Japanese partner Nissan officially launched their "rebalanced" alliance on Wednesday as they seek to reset a rocky 24-year-old partnership. Plans to expand oil, gas and coal production by major fossil fuel countries would push the world far beyond the Paris deal's 1.5C global warming limit, the UN warned Wednesday. It found that planned increases in production in these countries would produce 460 percent more coal, 82 percent more gas, and 29 percent more oil than would be in line with the 1.5C limit.
