The incident was filmed on 29 October and captured by onlookers who had gathered along a dirt pathway near a pillared structure in what appeared to be a village setting. Women in traditional saris and children were among those who watched as the large snake expelled its equally large meal in front of the assembled crowd.

Footage of the event shared by News.com.au, carried overlaid captions describing the moment as rare and noting that scientists believe the behaviour could be linked to territorial aggression or competition for resources between the two pythons. Cannibalism among pythons is uncommon but not unheard of. Experts suggest that when two large snakes occupy the same territory, conflict can escalate to one attempting to consume the other. The regurgitation, in this case, appeared to have been triggered by the presence of people. Watch the python regurgitate another python in this footage shared on Facebook:
