Mathye Vho Murumba is marking a new chapter in his solo career with the release of Ingoma Yam, his third solo effort. The Zulu title translates to My Song, and the artist says those two words carry significant weight — they speak to ownership, personal identity, and the freedom to create on his own terms.

In a conversation with TshisaLIVE, Emmanuel Mathye described the single as a reflection of the growth he has experienced since going independent. He spoke about how working alone has pushed him to explore unfamiliar sounds and dig deeper into his creative potential. For Mathye, releasing music as a solo act is not just about putting out songs but about discovering who he truly is as an artist without compromise.

Life After Murumba Pitch

Mathye co-founded Murumba Pitch alongside singer-songwriter Khathutshelo Innocent "Maeywon" Mangolo back in 2012, spending years building the brand as a DJ and producer. The duo eventually parted ways, a turn of events Mathye says was never part of the plan. He was candid about the fact that going solo was not the path he had envisioned for himself, and that he genuinely values the creative energy that comes from collaborating with others.

Despite the split, he still carries the Murumba Pitch name as his stage moniker, acknowledging the group as a defining part of his journey. He believes things do not always unfold the way one intends, and he has chosen to channel that experience into his art rather than dwell on what could have been.

What Comes Next

Mathye is not slowing down. On Friday, he is set to release a brand new single called *Amanxeba*, a collaboration with DJ and producer Swiss Wrld. With longevity now at the centre of his vision, Mathye appears focused on building a solo legacy that stands on its own.
