Wynberg Boys' High School is celebrating a historic double selection after former pupils Zachary Porthen and Yaqeen Ahmed were both named in the Springbok squad for the second leg of the Nations Championship.

Head coach Rassie Erasmus named a 37-man group for the upcoming three-match tour, with the Cape Town school producing two players in the same squad for the first time since Doug Hopwood and Lionel Wilson were selected together in 1965.

Porthen matriculated from Wynberg in 2022, while Ahmed, a flyhalf, left the school in 2025. The pair are among 16 Springboks the school has produced in total, with Ahmed's inclusion raising that tally as one of the programme's most recent graduates to reach the national setup.
