A South African car-buying agent gave TikTok followers a front-row seat to one of the most nerve-wracking parts of his job: a live online bidding war at a WesBank vehicle auction.

The clip, posted on 23 October 2026 by @auctionhubza, showed the agent locked in a fierce back-and-forth with an anonymous rival bidder. He had already secured a car for a client the day before and wanted to show his audience what the process actually looks like under pressure.

As the countdown timer ticked and the bids crept higher, the tension in the video was palpable. The rival bidder kept holding back and placing bids at the last possible second, a tactic that pushed the timer up repeatedly and kept resetting the final countdown. "This person is annoying," the agent said more than once, visibly rattled but refusing to back down.

He adjusted his strategy on the fly, staying calm enough to keep his bids competitive while talking his followers through every twist. By the time the price hit R97,000, he was still in the race. When the auction finally closed in his favour, the relief was immediate:

"Yes, yes, yes! Finally, thank you God."

The on-screen text throughout the video reminded viewers that his service is not an auction platform itself. He charges a fee to help clients find and bid on real vehicles at legitimate auctions.
