MLS confirmed on its official website that Mbokazi, known by the nickname "TLB," is ineligible to feature in the upcoming match against Orlando City, the club home to French international Antoine Griezmann.
Suspension comes with a financial penalty
Under the 2026 MLS regular-season disciplinary framework, a fifth yellow card triggers an automatic one-match ban and a fine of $250, the equivalent of approximately R4,166. Mbokazi's Chicago Fire teammate Dje D'Avilla is in the same position and will also be absent from the Orlando City clash for identical reasons.

Playoffs secured despite setback
The suspension arrives at a delicate stage of the season. After the Orlando City encounter, Chicago Fire will have just three matches remaining in the 2026 MLS regular season. The club has already qualified for the 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs, though their opponents in that phase are yet to be confirmed. The playoff stage is scheduled to begin on 18 November.
