SOUTH AFRICA — ActionSA president Herman Mashaba has issued a stern warning to South African voters ahead of the 4 November local government elections, urging them to abandon both the ANC and the Democratic Alliance at the polls.

Mashaba shared his position on X following a sit-down interview with Pieter Kriel, in which he argued that neither of the country's two dominant parties deserved voter support.

Mashaba's Case Against the ANC and DA

In his post, Mashaba wrote that the ANC "has been captured by corruption to the core," while the DA "has no social conscience." He argued that both parties had failed South Africans in different respects, yet continued to present themselves as the answer to the country's problems.

"Voting for either is not an investment in the South Africa our children and future generations deserve," Mashaba wrote.

He further said the death of these two political parties must come through the rejection of voters on the 4th of November, in order to create space for the development, growth and renewal for the country through the voting for the only viable alternative ready to fix this country across all municipalities.

Mashaba framed ActionSA as the sole credible option for voters who are concerned about the country's direction, positioning the party as ready to govern across all municipalities should it receive sufficient support in November.

Briefly News also reported that ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba has called on the party's prospective mayors to place South Africans at the centre of all governance decisions, as the party unveiled its mayoral candidates for eThekwini, KwaDukuza and Newcastle during a KwaZulu-Natal visit over the weekend. Mashaba made clear that the candidates being presented were accountable first and foremost to South African residents.
