PRETORIA, GAUTENG— South African Police Service (SAPS) officer Sergeant Fannie Nkosi was arrested on 2 April 2026 and charged in connection with firearms allegedly linked to his brother's security company. The arrest took place on the same day that his Pretoria home was raided during a search-and-seizure operation.

Yusuf Abramjee posted an image of Nkosi's Notice of Rights, which he received after he was arrested on his @abramjee X account. Nkosi has been charged with defeating the ends of justice, theft, possession of unlicensed ammunition, explosives, and a stun grenade. He is expected to appear in court soon.

Fannie Nkosi's house raided

The police raided Nkosi's house in Tshwane in the morning. The raid was a search-and-seizure operation and the police did not indicate what they were looking for. Nkosi testified as Witness F at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. He was implicated in the alleged corruption of the criminal justice system. Video footage of him allegedly receiving money from Katiso "KT" Molefe on behalf of suspended Deputy National Commissioner General Shadrack Sibiya.

12 police officers arrested for Medicare24 tender

In a related article, Briefly News reported that 12 police officers linked to Medicare24's R360 million SAPS tender were arrested. The officers include generals and other senior-ranking police officers.

The officers were arrested in connection with the tender in which R50 million was paid to attempted murder-accused Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala's company before the tender was cancelled.
