SOUTH AFRICA — Criminal charges ordered by Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga against Major-General Feroz Khan will hang over the witness when he appears in-camera at the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

According to SABC News, Justice Madlanga directed Dr Nolitha Vukuza, Commission Secretary, to initiate criminal proceedings against Khan following his defiance of a subpoena. This was after the Commission pushed for parts of his evidence to be heard in-camera.

Refusing Khan’s request to delay proceedings, the Commission noted that any outstanding issues should have been raised directly during his scheduled appearance. Justice Madlanga determined that Khan’s failure to show up in person or virtually represented a blatant breach of the Commission’s subpoena and earlier directive.
