Heat safety advice for runners and spectators

Hot conditions can increase the risk of dehydration and heat-related illness. Runners should drink fluids regularly, use available hydration stations, and watch for symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and unusual fatigue. Anyone experiencing concerning symptoms should seek medical assistance.

Thunderstorms could introduce a lightning risk if they develop while participants are still on the course. Runners and spectators should follow instructions from race officials and emergency personnel, including directions to seek shelter if necessary.

The forecast may change before race day. Participants should check official weather updates and event communications rather than assume the programme will remain unchanged.
