A video of retired South African football icon Siphiwe Tshabalala and his wife, former Miss South Africa Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala, has set Mzansi talking. The clip captured a warm embrace between the two, but not everyone saw it the same way.
X user @__T_touch posted the video on 25 September 2026 with the caption:
"You can't fake this kind of happiness. Siphiwe Tshabalala really married his best friend, and it shows 🔥"
In the footage, Tshabalala strolls towards Bokang wearing a white T-shirt and a bucket hat. She is dressed in red and sporting reindeer antlers, holding her phone in one hand as he wraps his arms around her.
Mzansi divided over the couple's interaction
The clip drew very different responses. Several users zeroed in on the fact that Bokang did not visibly return the embrace with her arms.

Siphiwe and Bokang's story
The pair confirmed their marriage in 2016. Bokang, who won the Miss South Africa crown in 2010, adopted the hyphenated surname Montjane-Tshabalala following their wedding. The couple had already welcomed their son, Owethu Orefile Temo, before making their union public.
On the football side, Tshabalala etched his name into history when he scored Bafana Bafana's opening goal of the 2010 FIFA World Cup against Mexico at Soccer City in Johannesburg, with FIFA recording the strike in the 55th minute of the match. He went on to become one of the most celebrated players to represent South Africa.
