Ouaddou's stint at AS Vita in 2024 was short-lived and troubled. He subsequently filed a claim with FIFA through Paris-based counsel Alexis Rutman of Steering Legal, citing contract breaches that included unpaid salaries and unreimbursed flight costs. The Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld FIFA's decision, confirming that the claim was admissible.

What Ouaddou is owed

According to documents relating to the case, AS Vita is required to pay Ouaddou €612,227.30, equivalent to approximately R11.4 million. That figure covers outstanding salary arrears, bonuses, airfare reimbursements, and compensation for breach of contract. The club is also liable for 3,000 CHF (approximately R60,000) in procedural costs, plus two-thirds of the arbitration fees.

AS Vita has failed to comply with the ruling, resulting in FIFA imposing a player registration ban on the club with effect from 27 May. A second registration ban, linked to a separate claim by Heritier Luvumbu for USD62,500 (approximately R1 million) in unpaid wages, came into force on 17 September.

Leadership wrangles complicate payment

The club is also grappling with an internal governance dispute. Flory Mapamboli has been serving as interim president following the resignation of Amadou Diaby, while Sylvestre Makambo was elected unanimously on 18 September before the Council of Elders. The competing leadership structures have left the club in a state of administrative uncertainty.
