Springboks Set for Packed Schedule After All Blacks Series

The Springboks will have just 15 days to reset after their All Blacks series before another international challenge awaits, with a demanding run of fixtures still to come in 2026.
The fourth Test against New Zealand in Baltimore takes place on Saturday, 12 September. After that clash, South Africa will turn to Australia. South Africa will face the Wallabies at Optus Stadium on Sunday, 27 September. Kick-off is scheduled for 11:30 South African time, with the match forming part of the Mandela Challenge Plate.
The timing makes squad management important. The Boks will have limited recovery time after four Tests against New Zealand, while Australia arrive having recently secured a series win in Argentina.
European Tests bring another challenge
South Africa then has a longer break before returning in November for the Nations Championship.

According to SA Rugby, the first stop is Turin, where Italy awaits at Allianz Stadium on Saturday, 7 November. The Boks then travel to Stade de France in Paris to face France on Friday, 13 November.
Their final scheduled league fixture is against Ireland at Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday, 21 November.

Twickenham could decide the finale
The Nations Championship then moves to Twickenham in London for finals weekend from 27-29 November.
South Africa’s final opponent will depend on the standings after the six-round competition. After six rounds, the teams in each hemisphere will be ranked from 1st to 6th. Finals Weekend will then pair teams by position, from 6th versus 6th through to the 1st versus 1st Grand Final.
That gives the Springboks a demanding sequence: Baltimore, Perth, Turin, Paris and Dublin, with another potential Twickenham appearance still to come.
Baltimore Test carries major financial weight
Briefly News also reported that the Springboks and All Blacks’ Baltimore meeting could deliver a significantly larger financial return than a comparable Test played in South Africa.
The 12 September fixture at M&T Bank Stadium is reportedly worth about R90 million more to each union than the same match would have generated in South Africa.
