Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus has put his squad on notice ahead of next Sunday's one-off Test against the Wallabies at Optus Stadium in Perth, warning that Australia will present a challenge unlike anything South Africa has faced in recent weeks.

The world champions touched down in Australia on Wednesday after completing a 3-1 series victory over the All Blacks, wrapping up a punishing stretch of fixtures that also included matches against Argentina.

**Erasmus Warns of Fired-Up Wallabies**

"Both Argentina and the All Blacks tested us thoroughly, and we have no doubt that we will be facing a determined Wallabies side that will want to put on a good show in front of their home crowd, and they will present a completely different challenge to that which we have faced in the last few Test matches," Erasmus said.

He stressed that Australia's recent form made them a credible threat. "The Wallabies have been playing well, and we have no doubt they will come out firing in this match, which will require another full 80-minute performance from us to get the desired result next weekend," the coach added.

Recovery Takes Centre Stage Before Perth Clash

The journey from Baltimore to Australia added another layer of strain to an already demanding tour schedule, making player welfare the immediate focus for coaching staff. Erasmus confirmed that training would only resume on Friday, giving players additional time to recover.

"The players had a day off in Baltimore on Sunday before we embarked on the journey to Australia, and we obviously factored the impact the last three matches and the travel would have on the players in our planning," he said.

Beyond the immediate fixture, the Perth Test carries added significance for South Africa's long-term planning. The city is scheduled to host the Boks in their third pool match at the 2027 Rugby World Cup, giving the squad a chance to familiarise themselves with the venue. Erasmus, however, emphasised that finishing the current tour on a high remained the priority before any focus shifted to next year's tournament.
