Insurance and services company The Unlimited has brought former Springbok winger Bryan Habana on board as its brand ambassador, announcing the appointment on Monday 21 September 2026.
The company, which has operated for over 30 years and covers more than three million South Africans, said the role was designed to introduce more people to the business and the stories behind it. The Unlimited has paid out over R1 billion in claims but acknowledged that its brand remains largely unknown to the public.
Habana Admits He Knew Nothing of the Company
According to Bizcommunity, Habana revealed that he was unfamiliar with The Unlimited before discussions began.
"I honestly had never heard of The Unlimited," he said.
"But the more I learnt about the impact they're having, the more curious I became."

Susie Hart, head of brand at The Unlimited, was equally candid about what the company was looking for. Hart also pointed to a values-based fit between Habana and the organisation.
The Coral Couch and Customer Role
A central feature of Habana's appointment is an unscripted video series called The Coral Couch, in which he will sit down with staff and people whose lives have been affected by the business. The conversations are intended to give South Africans an inside view of how The Unlimited operates.
His role will also extend to new customers during their first months with the company, helping them understand the products and benefits available to them and their families. For Habana, the appointment represents a chance to explore a business he describes as genuinely surprising.
