Cassper Nyovest is putting his celebrity status to work in a meaningful way, announcing that Universal Music South Africa has officially joined forces with his Million Voices initiative to combat period poverty affecting young girls across the country.

The Johannesburg-born rapper and entrepreneur, Refiloe Phoolo, shared the news on X, revealing that Universal Music SA made a R25,000 corporate donation towards the cause. The campaign runs alongside the Afribiz Entertainment Foundation and focuses on distributing reusable menstrual hygiene kits and providing educational support to schoolgirls who currently go without.

What Million Voices aims to do

Launched in July 2026, the Million Voices initiative has set an ambitious target of raising R100 million to reach one million young women and girls. The focus is on reusable sanitary packs designed to last for years, offering a sustainable alternative that reduces waste while protecting dignity and school attendance.

Cassper has been open about what drove him to act, saying that becoming a husband and father to a young daughter made the issue personal. He shared on X that girls missing school every month simply because they cannot afford sanitary products is a reality he refuses to accept. He wrote:

"This is what @millionvoices_sa is about, using my platform to make a real difference. There are so many young girls who miss school and opportunities because they don't have access to something as basic as sanitary products. That shouldn't be their reality."
