Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie turned heads at the Scorpion Kings' FNB Stadium concert on 19 September 2026 by revealing that his government sponsorship contribution was free shuttle transport for attendees. Safety Zones and dedicated waiting areas for Uber and lift riders were set up at the venue, with signage clearly directing concertgoers to the facilities.

McKenzie took to X to spread the word, urging fans without a ride home to make use of the shuttles.

"Please come to Safety Zones if you don't have a vehicle that will take you home; our free shuttles will drop you at home. We also have a specialised waiting area if you are awaiting your Uber or lift. Thanks," he wrote.

McKenzie's support for the Scorpion Kings

The minister had previously hinted that he secured sponsorship for the Scorpion Kings concert, though he kept the specifics under wraps until the night itself. He had been vocal about his enthusiasm for the duo, saying: "I am the biggest fan of Scorpion Kings. I have approached sponsors successfully on their behalf in the past. We are assisting again this year because it's the biggest local achievement in a stadium. I'm very proud of the Boys."
