DJ Maphorisa is giving credit where it is due. During an appearance on Tbo Touch's Touch Down on Metro FM on Monday, 7 September 2026, the star openly acknowledged that Cassper Nyovest's pioneering stadium shows planted the seed for the Scorpion Kings' upcoming FNB Stadium concert.

Speaking in an upbeat, hype-building tone, Maphorisa told listeners that Cassper proved to the entire music industry that filling a stadium was within reach for a South African artist.

"Shout out to Cassper, man, you showed that it's doable. It's doable," he said, repeating the phrase for emphasis.

Scorpion Kings take FNB Stadium on 19 September

The Scorpion Kings, the duo comprising DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, are scheduled to perform at the iconic FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on 19 September 2026. Maphorisa's shout-out to Cassper resonated strongly online, though not without some debate. Watch the Metro FM interview that set Mzansi talking:

@ThePeacefullG wrote:

"Credit where it is due because Cassper opened that stadium door while everybody was laughing at him, and now filling up FNB looks like a normal weekend plan"

"@casspernyovest as I said on Instagram after they fill it up don't post your fill up pictures you the G.O.A.T you're the reason why musicians can fill up stadiums, you the inspiration remember that."

Meanwhile, Briefly News reported that a popular DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small collaborator was left out of the Scorpion Kings Live FNB Stadium lineup.
