Ahly are enjoying a comfortable 2-0 lead, a result they secured from last week’s first leg clash at home in Cairo.

Meanwhile, striker Mohamed Sherif said they are on the right step heading to Tshwane. He told the club’s Twitter account:

“Of course defeating Sundowns in the first leg is an important step, but we still didn’t qualify yet. We still have another game to play in Pretoria, during which we will be aiming to qualify to the semi-finals.”

In the recent past, Briefly News reported that Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi said his side was better than coach Pitso Mosimane’s outfit.

Mngqithi, on the other hand, said they were unfortunate to lose the match against Ahly because their hosts were not the better team.

The Brazilians suffered a 2-0 loss against the Red Devils, who are coached by former Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane.

Although the second encounter could still go either way, Sundowns will have to be clinical upfront at Lucas Moripe Stadium for them to reach the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.

The Tshwane giants have to score three goals and not concede, but sharing his thoughts on the clash, Mngqithi said he expected a fast-paced match. He said:

"Like I expected it was always going to be a tactical game, we played very well and were unfortunate not to score, I've never seen a team coming to Egypt dominating Al Ahly for possession."
