Magaqa took to social media to share a message to former ANCYL member Sindiso on his first birthday since he passed away.

“Happy 35th birthday in heaven my twin. Your Mama MaDlamini still cries 4 u but she's a lot better now. Your niece Mayo is doing well in her 2nd year. She says she'll get her LLB for u. Ur babygals are all in school. Ncedo is also OK. You are so missed Mfwethu. #SindisoMagaqa ”, the heartfelt message read.

Sindiso, who was part of the ANCYL’s top six in 2011, passed away in September last year after he was fatally shot in a presumed ambush two months prior.

Since his death, Magaqa had been very verbal over the loss of her twin- a term that confused many South Africans.

Although they share the same surname, the reporter and Sindiso were not twins. However, they were related, and she explained on Twitter they had a very close bond.

“He's a relative. In his last years we forged a brother sister relationship. His mama is now my mama. His children my babies.”, she explained on Twitter in December 2017.
