The man, who documents his journey on Instagram under the handle @hikewithme.official, filmed the encounter himself. On screen, a caption confirmed it was Day 121 of his trek, dated 1 May 2026. He had already covered more than 2,300 kilometres on foot and expected the full journey to take roughly two years.
In the clip by @hikewithme.official, a parked delivery truck sits along a rural Zimbabwean road. Truck drivers and locals approach the traveller and hand him bread and food. Visibly moved, he repeats his thanks several times before signing off with the words: "Thank you, Zimbabwe."
The traveller explained that he was born in Jordan in the Middle East but had set off from Cape Town on a mission to walk all the way to Russia. When the truck drivers heard his story, they did not hesitate. He accepted the gesture with clear disbelief and warmth.
