Papa Penny has joined in on the fun of making Amapiano music - he has even released a single already, titled Mphe Mphe.

According to TimesLIVE, the reality TV star said this song is one of many that he is compiling into an Amapiano-inspired new album.

Although many of his fans may be surprised by this new direction he is taking, Papa Penny says he's just going with the times.

"When you're an artist, you don't stay in the same genre. Artists are not like soccer players; you must change and go with the times. I'm moving with the times - that's why I am on the Amapiano."

Briefly.co.za gathered that Papa Penny's single is about giving money every time someone asks for it.

He has a song about living in the moment as well.

"I also have a song called Silima that people are enjoying at the moment."

Papa Penny says has performed in the UK recently and that the audience really liked his new Amapiano music. Maybe Mzansi will love it just as much.

"I just came back from the UK and I performed these Amapiano songs to the audience. They loved it!"

The distinct Amapiano sound is described as an offshoot of deep house incorporating Gqom and, of course, piano, with an underlying jazz style.

Earlier this year, Papa Penny was pleasing crowds in the Netherlands during his European tour.

The people didn't have a clue what he was singing, but they loved it - if his Amapiano went down this well, Papa Penny has found himself many new fans.
