Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has signalled that the club may not be done in the transfer market, pointing to specific areas of the squad he believes still require reinforcement ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Portuguese coach made the remarks to SuperSport TV following Sundowns' 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday afternoon, offering a candid assessment of where the squad currently stands and what more may be needed.

Cardoso acknowledged an improvement in attacking depth compared to the previous campaign, citing the return of Cassius Mailula to the club and the emergence of young forward Bennet Mokoena as positive developments. However, his focus quickly shifted to other parts of the pitch.
"Last year I complained a lot about having more options for the front," Cardoso said. "This year we are better, and that allows the coach to be better also. Obviously, some of the youngsters here and then they make mistakes. They want to rush a little bit of things, but maturity will come from opportunities that we have to give."
He then turned his attention to defensive and midfield concerns, indicating those positions remained a priority.
"I still think that here and there, in the middle, in the back, we need something more. Let's hope it's something the club is working on, because the season is very tough," he added. "I think, yeah, centre-back, midfielder, maybe something there on the right. Let's see what is possible to do. But good signs regarding development."
