- Somizi took to social media to share a short black and white video of himself in full drag, wearing a gorgeous dress
- The Instagram post was part of the #Challenge Accepted campaign which has been trending over the last few days
- Mzansi social media users had mixed reactions about Somizi's participation as the campaign is supposed to be only for women
Somizi Mhlongo is the latest Mzansi media personality to join the #ChallengeAccepted campaign. The trending hashtag is specifically for women to highlight women empowerment.
Somizi donned some make-up and a weave and hopped onto the trend. Women have been posting black and white photos of themselves and tagging other ladies to join them.
Somizi took to Instagram after being tagged by Moneoa and posted a black and white video of himself. The star was dressed in full drag with a stunning face beat, wig and dramatic dress.
He captioned his post:
"I dedicate this post to all the women of the world.”
His post received mixed reactions from Mzansi social media users. Some thought Somizi looked great while others thought that he was taking over a challenge he was not meant to be a part of.
"You are beautiful in both of your genders, male and female."
"Wow Somizi, you're hot."
"Are you a woman?"
"You are a man. What on earth is this?"
“I’m a fan. But this is not cool. You are not a woman, you don’t understand the struggle. This is like a white person taking part in a black-only challenge. Wouldn’t fly would it?”
In similar news, AKA took to social media to mock #ChallengeAccepted. The rapper used the campaign as an opportunity to joke around. He took to Instagram and posted a black and white picture of himself.
He claimed Oprah challenged him and he nominated Bey, Rihanna and Kylie Jenner to post their photos. His fans were in stitches over his stunt.
Instagram user bebe_gayerh said:
"Yess wena moghel"
"The homie is looking younger and hotter and fresher and foiner in the middle-centre of a whole global pandemic."
