Joe Biden's children and what they have been up to

- Former Vice President Joe Biden who also served as Delaware senator is the father of four children

- He had his eldest three children - Beau, Hunter and Naomi with his first wife who died in a tragic car accident alongside Naomi in the 1970s

The US and the world at large grew to love Joe Biden when he served as the vice president under former President Barrack Obama and the two shared a cute bromance during their terms.

The former Delaware Senator served alongside Obama from 2008 to 2016 and is now the Democratic presidential candidate for the 2020 election.

With Biden being front and centre, it will only be natural to have questions about his family life.

The former vice president has a longstanding political-career and his children have been in the public eye for as long as he has but he has also tried to protect their privacy.

Many people know of Biden’s sons, Hunter and Beau, but he is actually the father of four children: Beau, Hunter, Naomi and Ashley.

He had his three eldest children (Hunter, Beau and Naomi) with his first wife, Neilia Hunter as reported by Women's Health Magazine.

After she was killed in a car accident in the 1970s together with Naomi who was still a toddler, Biden eventually married his second wife, Jill Jacobs, in 1977.

They share Biden's youngest daughter, Ashley.

The former vice president is not just a dad, though, he is also a grandfather to several kids.

Beau was Biden's firstborn with his late wife Neilia. He was born on February 3, 1969, and died of brain cancer on May 30, 2015.

He joined the military in 2003 and was deployed to Iraq but was able o return to Washington DC in 2009 for his dad's inauguration as the vice president under Obama's presidency.

He also served as the attorney general in Delaware during and after his time in the military

He was married to Hallie Olivere, with whom he had two children, Robert Biden II and Natalie Biden.

Robert Hunter Biden

Hunter is Biden and his late wife's second-born. He was born on February 4, 1970, and is popularly known by his middle name.

Hunter graduated from Yale Law School and works as an attorney for a New York-based law firm and also served in the US Navy.

He is also the founder of the venture capital firm Eudora Global and served as chairman of the World Food Program USA board from 2011 to 2015.

He was married to Kathleen Buhle, with whom he had three children, Naomi Biden, Finnegan Biden, and Maisy Biden but he and Kathleen divorced in 2017.

He married Melissa Cohen in 2019. He and Melissa had their first child in March.

Hunter’s personal life has also made headlines, due to his struggles with drugs and alcohol, as per ABC News, as well as his divorce from his ex-wife.

He is reported to have another child whose identity has been kept anonymous with a woman in Arkansas, Lunden Alexis Roberts.

The paternity of that child was the subject of a now-resolved 2018 court case determining Hunter was the father, according to the Texarkana Gazette.

Recently, there had been disputed reports about his connections and business dealings overseas, but they’ve been disproven by Politico, New York Times and The Washington Post.

Naomi Christina Biden

Naomi was born on November 8, 1971. She was killed in a car crash with her mother, Neilia, on December 18, 1972.

She was the third child of Joe and Neilia and died when she was just 13 months old when a tractor-trailer struck the car Neilia was driving.

Hunter and Beau were also in the car but only suffered minor injuries.

Ashley Biden

Ashley Biden was born on June 8, 1981. She is Biden's only child with his current wife, Jill Biden.

Ashley has a master's degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania and puts it to use in her activism and daily life helping others.

She has also been active in helping her dad campaign over the years.

In 2012, she married Howard David Krein, an otolaryngologist and plastic surgeon.

Together the two spend a large amount of time on charity and social work.
