If you were around in the 1990s, then the name Mr Bean is not a new one to your ears and eyes, no?

Well, the actor, whose real name is Rowan Atkinson trilled fans with his witty character on Mr Bean which was actually the favourite of many people, young and old.

We all may have and still enjoy seeing him play the Mr Bean character but the opposite is quite true for the British actor.

Mr Bean recently disclosed that he may never play the role again as potraying the character is quite stressful and exhausting.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Times, the actor said it is way easier for him to perform the Mr Bean character vocally than visually.

Briefly.co.za understands Rowan who had earlier produced an animated series is in the middle of developing an animated movie for the popular character.

He may be in the middle of coming up with the animated movie but feels the weight of responsibility that comes with the role is not pleasant hence does not really enjoy playing it.

''I don't much enjoy playing him. The weight of responsibility is not pleasant. I find it stressful and exhausting, and I look forward to the end of it.,' Rowan said.

The actor also confirmed that he was not surprised by the success of his character.

''Mr Bean's success has never surprised me. Watching an adult behaving in a childish way without being remotely aware of his inappropriateness is fundamentally funny. The fact the comedy is visual rather than verbal means it has been successful internationally, too.'' Rowan stated.

Rowan played the titular role in the successful series from 1990 until 1995, before later taking on the films Bean Movie in 1997 and Mr Bean's Holiday in 2007.

All the productions were hits internationally.
