Well-known Twitter user @AdvoBarryRoux sparked a debate on "saving the planet" after sharing two peculiar images of reusable toilet paper. Yes, you read that right, it's reusable and eco-friendly toilet paper.
South Africans were absolutely gobsmacked by this new way of saving a few bucks and, subsequently, the planet. Many questioned the process of cleaning the reusable loo cloth while others quickly shut down the thought of ever using it.
It also seems to have brought back memories of the towelling nappies many South African babies used.
Take a look at @AdvoBarryRoux's tweet below:
Below are just a few of the responses the reusable toilet paper received:
@blaq_furry wrote:
"So you think changing a few toilet wipes will save the earth. Just as much as those who think electric cars will save the planet."
@starblack_jnr said:
"So I guess I throw it in the washing basket when I’m done. Then I wash it with my laundry over the weekend, meanwhile, my house is smelling like my a**."
@SabzGatsheni tweeted:
"The PLANET can WAIT."
@keke_izee asked:
"Where do you keep them?"
@RealinnoOrLa23 responded with:
"It's a no for me."
@AlbertmMohlala added:
"Save the planet by using washable diapers instead of disposable diapers. I think that will be better."
In other weirdly funny news, Briefly.co.za recently reported on a photoshopped image of Finance Minister Tito Mboweni that had Mzansi in stitches. Photoshop aficionado @RealMrumaDrive, aka 'The Cleaner' changed Mboweni's race and it had some hilarious response.
Besides changing the skin tone of Tito, @RealMrumaDrive also changed his hair and eye colour. South Africans were taken aback by the photoshopped image and responded with some equally funny posts. Read a few of them below:
@Olugaho_Vincent wrote:
"Tito Van Garlic."
@Mbbaarrlliii said:
"From Tito Mboweni to Titier Van Hendriks."
@mogakabede tweeted:
"Minister Tito van Bowen."
