An Australian travel content creator sparked a lively debate online after posting a video from Cape Town's seafront, where she reflected on how different South Africa felt after nearly two weeks in Ethiopia.
@else.wherekristin, who describes herself as a solo traveller who has visited more than 50 countries, filmed the selfie-style vlog along a coastal promenade with Lion's Head visible in the background. In the clip, she said the contrast between the two destinations had already struck her the moment she arrived.
"Cape Town feels completely different to Ethiopia," she said. "So far I feel like Africa is the most misunderstood continent."

Ethiopia is currently navigating a significant humanitarian and security crisis.
