Cape Town artist Chaz Williams caught Springbok captain Siya Kolisi completely off guard in a playful moment that has been making rounds on Instagram since 29 August 2026.
Williams, who goes by @iamchaz13 online, painted a large two-metre tribute portrait celebrating the Springboks. After completing the piece, he asked Kolisi to sign it. The only problem? Kolisi signed the front of the frame rather than the back.
When Williams walked back into the room where Kolisi and another gentleman were standing, he played it up perfectly, acting visibly frustrated and telling Kolisi he was supposed to sign the back of the frame. Kolisi looked genuinely startled at first. It was only when the man beside him broke into laughter that the penny dropped, and Williams himself cracked a grin, revealing he had been joking all along. The two men shared a warm hug, closing out the moment in the best possible way.
