A Spring Day prank took a dramatic detour when a young man found himself trapped on a moving bus after the driver outsmarted him at his own game.
TikToker @esa_dolcen posted the clip on 1 September 2026, and it quickly spread across South African social media.
Every year on the first day of September, South Africans mark the arrival of spring by dousing one another with water. The tradition is all in good fun, but some people push it a little further than others.
On this particular occasion, a group of young men spotted a bus pulling over to drop off a passenger. Sensing an opportunity, one of them grabbed a bucket and rushed towards the open doors, clearly planning to splash the passengers inside.

What he did not count on was the driver. Before the prankster could do anything, the driver shut the doors, sealing him inside the bus as it drove off.
Briefly News could not confirm what happened to the young man after the bus departed, but it is safe to say he learned a lesson he will never forget. TikToker @esa_dolcen is still to post an update.
