A South African man turned his birthday into something far bigger than himself. On 29 August 2026, TikTok user @musa_sono_ shared footage of himself feeding more than 2,000 schoolchildren as his way of marking another year of life.

The video, filmed at an outdoor school assembly under a corrugated metal roof, showed rows of uniformed children gathered to receive food. Stacks of maize meal bags and beverages were distributed to the crowd, with on-screen captions reading: "This is how we fed 2000 children for my birthday celebration" and "Don't give up!"

Among the most moving moments in the clip by @musa_sono_ was a handwritten thank-you letter from one of the students, as well as a woman dancing in traditional attire to mark the occasion.
