Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo took to social media recently to share how her last day of shooting for Isibaya was. The actress shared that her last shoot for the telenovela was on 6 February, 2021.

The soapie is coming to an end this year after being on air for over eight years. Thembisa joined the cast of the show in 2019. She played the role of Amanda Molefenyane. The star took to Twitter on Sunday, 7 February and wrote:

"06/02/2021. Last day of shooting for Isibaya. Emotional to say the least."

When a fan took to her comment section to ask when the last episode of the soapie will air, Thembisa replied:

"I can't answer that."

An executive producer of Isibaya named Desiree penned a beautiful letter to Sibusiso's character, detailing how the fans fell in love with him. Desiree spoke about his love for Thandeka, who was played by Nomzamo Mbatha, and how they followed their love until the very end.

Sdumo started off by saying thank you to Desiree and became emotional about how he came to love Sibusiso himself. Sdumo said that the character of Sibusiso will stay in his heart forever, especially because he played the role for eight years.

"Thank you entrusting me with this character and this story of love, family culture and heritage," said the actor.

Fans are saddened that one of their favourite TV shows is coming to an end, but a few of them will be comforted by the fact that some of their actors grew attached to the production as well.
