17-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in Itumeleng Khune’s Sister's Murder Case

A 17-year-old boy has been taken into custody in connection with the death of Itumeleng Khune’s sister Mapula “Meiki” Khune.
Provincial police spokesperson Col Adéle Myburgh has confirmed that the boy was taken into custody in Ventersdorp on Friday.
Mapula died in a fire, police were alerted about a fire at Itumeleng Khune’s grandmother's home where Mapula was staying.
The police investigated the scene and changed the inquest to murder after seeing that only the back room was damaged according to Sowetan Live.
Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena praised the authorities for their swift action on the case according to the Daily Sun.
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that tragedy has struck, Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune's sister Mapula Khune has sadly passed away. The details are not clear yet but what is known is that she perished in a fire.
She was staying at her grandmother's house in Tshing. Police have started an investigation and it is presumed that an intruder broke in.
The coroner still needs to perform a postmortem and conduct forensic tests to learn more about the tragic incident.
According to reports from the Daily Sun, Mapula, who was affectionately known as Meiki was sleeping in an outside room at her gran's house.

“At 5am on Thursday we received a call about a lot of smoke coming from a backroom in Tshing,” said Myburgh according to The Citizen.
In other news, a clip of a man who looks shockingly similar to South African goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, drunk and having fun at an unknown groove, has been shared online by the popular Twitter user, @Kulanicool.
While it is unclear whether or not the person in the clip is actually Khune or when exactly the clip was taken, it has resulted in the soccer star trending on SA Twitter streets since early this morning as many South Africans shared their thoughts on Khune.
"Khune is a happy gent," Kulani captioned the post.
