Ex Hawker Becomes Professional Shoemaker, Plans to Open a University

- A lady, Faith Oyita, turned her life around with shoemaking business after years of hawking on the street

- Faith said that she knew to succeed in life, one would have to undertake hard ventures and do them well

- After apprenticing as a shoemaker, Faith, who now has people working for her, said it is her dream to open a university where the art of making shoes is taught

A lady, Faith Oyita, has again proven the fact that anybody is capable of doing whatever they set their mind on irrespective of their gender.

As a 16-year-old teenager, the lady resolved to learn shoemaking after coming to the realisation that hawking did not hold a future for her.

In a BBC News Pidgin interview, Faith said when she approached the person who was going to teach her, the cobbler thought she wasn't serious.

The lady stated that due to the poor background that she came from, she had to be a shoemaker for one year to save for her education.

Faith disclosed that though she knew the job was not an easy one, she endured it with the determination to succeed.

The professional shoemaker revealed that her hope is to one day own a shoemaking university where people can come to and learn the art.

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za earlier reported that a hardworking lady with the Twitter handle @HustleQueen01 generated massive reactions online after sharing photos of the tiling work she did on a client's bathroom.

The lady said she was able to finish the work on Sunday, January 3. In a post she made on the same day, the tiler attached the before-and-after photos of the restroom.
