- South African rapper Zakwe has shared his thoughts about a local rapper and it has been met with fierce debate
- Zakwe said that he thinks Cassper Nyovest is an amazing rapper, contrary to the popular narrative
- His opinion led to an all-out war among hip hop fans as they weighed in with their thoughts on Zakwe's claim
Zakwe has incited a fierce debate on social media after he said that Cassper Nyovest is an underrated lyricist. The rapper gave props to Nyovest’s wordplay but not many were in agreement. Twitter user RapCitySA posted:
“@ZakweSA claims @casspernyovest is the most underrated SA Lyricist! A lot of South African Hip Hop fans believe that Cassper is not so much of a great rapper but a great businessman.”
Although opinions differed, there were a few social media users who agreed with Zakwe’s unpopular opinion. Check out some of the mixed responses:
“Cassper is the best Rapper! A lot of heads in the game won't give him that because his punchlines are most of Setswana and most of 'em nikkas are Zulu/Xhosa. Hip Hop music has 3 categories: Rap, Soft Rap and Underground. Nyovest gave us all that!”
“And it's true Cassper can rap!!!...the problem is him being versatile is making people belittle his raps cos he doesn't push his rap songs like he do with his type of music..that's why. And people are judging from that.”
“Zakwe is buying face la he mustn't lie CASSPER Lyricist LARENG NARE.”
“Zakwe is tripping everyone knows that Cassper can't Rap.”
“Zakwe is a** kissing. Cassper is no lyricist at all.”
Meanwhile Briefly News reported that snaps of Cassper out and about with fellow musician Khuli Chana has social media users howling after his tiny stature and small frame became hilariously evident.
Mzansi was sure to share their two sense on what many felt to be a shocking revelation. Read some of their comments below:
"He's this short kante."
"Who doesn't know gore Cassper is short?"
"He looks so sh...."
"Now nagana how short Khuli Chana is."
"Lmao I just realised now that he blocked me too."
"Hawu kanti utikoloshi."
"No wonder @PrinceKaybee_SA called him shotpan and it went straight to the nerve."
