'Skeem Saam' Actors with Small Roles Fight Back, Demand Equal Treatment

Skeem Saam extras have alleged that the popular soapie's producers treat them differently from main cast members.

The actors with small roles complained that they should be treated equally and fair just like ther colleagues who play more popular roles.

The extras alleged that they also eat at different times and shared that their meals are not up to standard. They want to be treated equally, saying they also contributed to the growth of the popular SABC 1 telenovela.

An unnamed source told Daily Sun that sometimes they do their work without a meal the whole day if they missed breakfast.

ZAlebs reports that Skeem Saam publicity manager Sumaya Mogola denied the damning allegations. Mogola explained that the soapie currently outsources one agency that provides them with extras. He claimed they have never received any complaints regarding ill-treatment at all.

Mogola added that the production caters for each member of the cast on a daily basis with the same quantity and quality of food.

In other entertainment news, Briefly News previously reported that Skeem Saam actress Makgofe Moagi celebrated her 42nd birthday on Sunday, 7 March.

The stunner, who plays the role of Charity Ramabu in the popular soapie, took to Twitter to share what her birth date means to her.

"Born on the day of a number that represents completion and perfection. What are we doing today?! It’s my birthday after all!"
