DJ Warras Expresses Disappointment Over Johannesburg’s State in Photo: “It’s Being Destroyed”

While Johannesburg may be known as the City of Gold, DJ Warras doesn't feel the city can take first place in aesthetics. The media personality hopped onto social media to air his grievances about Johannesburg's condition, pointing a finger at unnamed individuals.

Taking to his X account, DJ Warras, whose real name is Warrick Stock, shared a picture of himself standing in the city's streets and stated to the public that he loved the area, to which he moved as a teenager.

However, he had more to say about Johannesburg's state, writing in the caption of his post:

DJ Warras didn't share which part of the massive city to which he was referring or elaborate on who was to blame.

The former Live Amp presenter is not one to mince his words. On 10 June, while appearing as a guest on Podcast and Chill with MacG, DJ Warras roasted Sizwe Dhlomo. Sizwe went viral after explaining why copper cable thieves arm themselves. DJ Warras later revealed during the podcast that he has a close relationship with Khaya 959's radio host.

The state of Johannesburg

According to the local publication BusinessTech, Johannesburg is facing many challenges from crime to weak governance to infrastructure. The richest city in South Africa's CBD has become more dangerous than ever, with many companies moving their offices to areas in the north.

Several local social media users and Johannesburg residents rushed to the comment section in agreement. Some also placed blame on South Africa's ruling party after noticing its condition.

@BisleyClose told the online community:

"Joburg has plenty to offer, but the way things are now makes it impossible to enjoy anything."

@BiGWiZ_ alleged in the comments:

"The city is being destroyed by the ANC! The country is being destroyed by Cyril Ramaphosa and his criminal organisation, the ANC."

@Sphe_NTO admitted to the public:

"It's filthy, and it's scary. I don't want anything to do with Jozi anymore. I'm scared of that place!"

@AfterEarth tagged the ANC in their tweet, writing:

"@MYANC really did us dirty. All the metros are falling apart."

@mrbruisedwayne added in the comment section:

"I love my country. South Africa is the greatest country on earth, and I'm happy that a public figure is finally speaking up about what our real issues are!"

DJ Warras makes allegations against Durban cops

In a related article, Briefly News reported that DJ Warras put another South African city on blast when he made damning allegations against Durban's police.

Following KwaZulu-Natal's police commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's allegations about top politicians, the Durban-born DJ accused the city's cops of corruption. He also raised tough questions regarding the sudden success of the police in solving cold cases, such as the murder of DJ Sumbody.
