Renowned South African choreographer and dancer Nkateko Maswanganye, also known as Takkies, officially confirmed her divorce from her husband Chris Dinwiddy after almost eight years of marriage.
At the height of their romance, the couple were the epitome of relationship goals. Their 2017 wedding hosted at the Steynshoop Wedding Venue in Magaliesburg was featured on the discontinued popular lifestyle show Top Billing on SABC3.
While Dinwiddy confirmed that he had found love in the arms of a new woman on his social media, a source who spoke to Sunday World explained why Nkateko Maswanganye filed for divorce.

According to a source who spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity, Takkies, much like Phumeza Shoba, filed for divorce because of her husband’s infidelity. The source said Dinwiddy found someone after he and Nkateko Maswanganye relocated to London, United Kingdom.

“He strayed. He connected with someone else when they arrived in Europe,” the friend told Sunday World.
The friend claimed that Nkateko had given love another chance, saying:
“Takkies has moved on and is trying to adjust to new life. She is also dating again. She will be okay.”
Sunday World reports that Takkies is in a new relationship with a white man whom she has yet to make public.

In contrast, her ex-husband, Chris Dinwiddy, made his new relationship public with a heartfelt post on his official Instagram account. He posted pictures of himself being cosy with his new girlfriend, which he captioned:
“During life’s winding journey, I met an unexpected person in an unexpected place. And so started a new life chapter with a supportive, caring, and beautiful partner at my side.”

When contacted for a comment by Sunday World, Takkies confirmed the divorce and disclosed that while she is still healing, she is in a better place.
“I’m grateful to God for giving me strength, opening my eyes, and saving me. Healing is not straightforward, but so vital. I’m back and better,” Takkies said.
She said the divorce was a teachable moment for her, and as a result, she will not ignore any red flags in her new relationship.
“I’m approaching love by protecting my peace. My boundaries are stronger. I don’t overlook red flags, and as sweet as I am, I’m not accepting any nonsense,” Takkies added.
