Former child star Raven-Symoné made headlines on 18 August 2026, during her visit to Kleinmond, Western Cape, where she took a selfie with local ward councillor Grant Cohen and two other men. The actress, currently in South Africa filming the new Cheetah Girls movie, captivated locals with her warm demeanour and fondness for the area.

"It's not every day that you bump into Disney and acting royalty in Kleinmond, but today we met Raven-Symoné. What a genuine, down-to-earth person who said she loves the area."

She first captured hearts as a child in the 80s sitcom The Cosby Show alongside late actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, before becoming a household name through Disney's That's So Raven. She is in the country for the filming of The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen. She reprises her role as Galleria, joined by Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, who returns as Chanel.
