Cassper Nyovest found himself at the centre of yet another online storm on Thursday, 17 September 2026, after a heated clap-back at Mac G's fanbase sparked a fresh debate about authenticity, grief, and celebrity beef.
The drama unfolded after a man was allegedly shot and killed in Kempton Park, following a minor car collision that escalated into a fatal confrontation. Like many South Africans, Cassper reacted to the news on X, voicing outrage. But not everyone believed his concern was genuine.

Cassper called an opportunist
User @anelemgaba came for the Don Billiato rapper directly, accusing him of exploiting the tragedy to score points against Podcast and Chill. "Wena, you pretend to care about what's happening in the country because the timeline is trying to trash Podcast and chill, you using that as an opportunity to campaign against them and win the beef you have with them. That's so low," the user wrote.

Rather than rise above it, Cassper let loose. "Man, you think I care what a trash human like Mac G and his minions say about me on this app? Lemme out this clear !!! Ha ke le Tshabe kaofela le papa Lona!!!! Ha ke sbaye!!!! Poison!!! Y'all can't do nun to me !!! Absolutely nothing !!! Le moya!! Air!" he posted at 1:02 AM.
Mzansi slams Cassper
The post drew a mixed but largely critical response from users who felt Cassper had shifted focus from a real tragedy to a personal grudge.
@PaulMuller6qtj wrote:
"I don't understand the obsession about Mac G; that guy is feeding homes. He has given a chance and opened doors for many young people, but I guess that's a sin to these so-called 'celebrities.'"
@Dee_Amu said:
"My brother, you made this whole thing about you and your beef with MacG. If you genuinely cared, you would have rather used your platform to address Femicide; you would use your platform to call out the government regarding the issues in South Africa, as you are influential."
@uGashman questioned Cassper's faith walk, writing:
"Yazi maybe I'm wrong, but i thought when you're a born-again Christian you let go and let God, but every day it becomes clear that all this mzalwane thing you are pushing is just an act nje."
