Connie Ferguson is officially back on the set of Generations, and she's stepping into familiar territory as Karabo Moroka — one of South African television's most beloved characters. In an interview with SABC News in Johannesburg on 18 September 2026, Ferguson opened up about what it feels like to walk back through those studio doors.

"Nostalgia is a thing, right? Walking into the building after — I think the last time I was here was 2023. It's just, everything is so familiar, yet so different," she said during the sit-down chat, which aired on the YouTube channel.

For those hoping Ferguson is returning full-time, she was upfront about the nature of her stint. When pressed on whether this would be a long-term run, Ferguson was clear: "Very short." She described her character's purpose within the show as representing "the bigger arc of the Morokas," explaining that new faces on the cast mean her original on-screen family is no longer around in the same way.

She set the record straight on a long-standing debate, confirming that filming began in 1993 with the broadcast following in 1994 "That was a different world," she reflected, acknowledging just how much has changed both on screen and off since Karabo Moroka first appeared on South African television.
