The National Council of SPCAs strongly opposes keeping any wild animals inside residential homes as pets. Keeping leopards in domestic environments breaches standard animal welfare requirements according to the national organisation. Wildlife experts maintain that predatory big cats belong strictly in protected nature reserves or reserves.
