A Cape Town restaurant boss became an overnight hero after going the extra mile for his team when taxi violence made it impossible for them to get home safely.

@aphiwegwilikana posted the clip on 29 October 2026, showing colleagues gathered on a lit-up outdoor patio, relaxed and laughing as their boss handed out KFC meals to everyone at the table. The caption on the video read:

"POV: your boss booked a BnB for you and your colleagues because you couldn't go home."

The boss, referred to as Meneer in the video, had arranged accommodation for the group and ordered a full KFC spread. He even added extra chips for the group.

A boss who put his team first

What made the moment stand out was the simplicity of it. Rather than leaving his staff to figure out alternative transport or fend for themselves during a dangerous night, the Plato Green Point manager stepped in and handled everything quietly and generously.

The clip, posted with the caption "Give this man his flowers," quickly spread across TikTok, with viewers responding not just to the gesture itself but to how rare it felt.
